Tally.ERP 9 supports ASCII (Comma Delimited), Excel (Spreadsheet), HTML (Web Publishing), JPEG (Image), PDF (Portable Data Format), and XML (Data Interchange) Export Formats. On Exporting any Ledger Report with narration more than 256 characters (using Excel Format) to Excel 2003 displays the Narration details as #.
ALTERNATE SOLUTION/WORKAROUND
Change the cell format to General in Excel file.
