Master alteration creates new master during Synchronisation

Synchronisation is the process of replicating data between two or more computers using Tally.ERP 9 in a Client-Server environment. Data is transferred from the client to the server and vice versa. During Synchronisation, Tally.ERP 9 will first transfer the masters and then the transactions related to the synchronised masters will be transferred. Users sometimes come across a situation, where they require altering the name of the Masters which are created and used in the transactions synchronised. In this scenario, Tally.ERP 9 will verify the existing masters in the server and on not finding the master with the altered name, instead of altering the existing master during Synchronisation, it creates a new master with the altered name.

ALTERNATE SOLUTION/WORKAROUND

Currently, if the masters are altered only at Client or at Server, alter the masters manually at the other end (Server/Client).

RESOLUTION TIMELINES

Resolution for the above-stated problem will be provided in Tally.ERP 9 Series B JAS (July, August, September) Release.
